Season 3 of Netflix's drama comedy series Emily in Paris was announced on January 10, 2021, alongside a Season 4 announcement.[1] It premiered on December 21, 2022.

Synopsis[]

One year after moving from Chicago to Paris for her dream job, Emily finds herself at a crucial crossroads in every aspect of her life. Faced with two very different paths, Emily will have to decide exactly where her loyalties lie — at work and in her romantic life — and what those decisions mean for her future in France, all while continuing to immerse herself in the adventures and surprising twists and turns that life in Paris provides.[2]

  • Production of Season 3 began in June 2022.[4][5]
  • Season 3's viewership for its first week came in #2 with 117.6M hours viewed and was in the top 10 in 93 countries. The premiere for season three was bigger than the premiere of seasons one and two, and the first season was also back in the Top 10 more than two years after it premiered.[6]
  • Season 3 was filmed in France, just as its previous two seasons were. Many of the locations in the series were filmed on-location and not on a set.
    • The Eiffel tower in I Have Two Lovers was filmed at the Eiffel tower. During the elevator scene, only Lily Collins, director Andrew Fleming, a camera operator, and a focus puller were used in the exclusive space. Andrew Fleming operated the elevator.[7]
    • The location of Sylvie and Madeline's face-off, which took place at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in What's It All About..., was inspired by a real-life exhibition celebrating Dior that creator Darren Star went too.[7]
    • Emily's grand gesture for Alfie in What's It All About... was filmed at Quai des Célestins.[7]
    • The Emily in Paris cast and crew actually went to Provence to film episode six, Ex-En-Provence.[7]
    • Andrew Fleming wanted to film at the Musée d’Orsay since Season 1, and was able to visit and walk around the museum by himself when it was closed. He picked where they could shoot and what paintings they could feature.[7]
    • The restaurant Nicolas slyly uninvites Emily from attending in Love is in the Air is called Lapérouse, and is Andrew Fleming's favorite place in the City of Light.[7]
    • The crazy helicopter landing in Charade took place at the fictional Domaine de Lalisse, but was filmed at a real château called Château de Sonnay.
  • Shop The Scenes partnered directly with Executive Producer Darren Star to bring the in-show brands to life. Now fans can shop the same products that Emily pitches as they watch Season 3. The brands featured include Champére, Pierre Cadault, and Chez Lavaux.
