Emily in Paris Wiki

Nicolas de Leon is the crown prince and dutiful executive of his family’s high powered conglomerate, JVMA. Nicolas seems to lead a charmed life. But while the family name is an endless source of wealth, status, and access, it’s accompanied by a crushing pressure to prove himself as more than just a nepotism hire. While Emily would kill to be in business with him, it’s an unexpected personal connection that brings them together.[1]

Biography[]

Nicolas is the wealthy son and heir of JVMA-creator and fashion mogul Louis de Leon. He attended a boarding school in high school and met Mindy Chen, an American-transplant with an equally iconic father - "The Zipper King" of China. They flirted and had fun in school, but their relationship didn't progress. After boarding school, Nicolas attended the London School of Business and met several people that would become long-term friends in his life, including Marcello Muratori.

Season 4[]

Nicolas invites Mindy to be in JVMA's suite at the French Open, gifting her a conservative outfit to wear. She doesn't initially think anything of the outfit, but overhears Nicolas talking to his father Leon at the event. Leon thanks Nicolas for getting Mindy to cover up, and she confronts Nicolas. He's trying to appease his father so Leon won't make rude comments about her clothing anymore. Mindy's upset by Nicolas deciding she was the problem instead of standing up to his father. In the future, she's going to wear whatever she wants. She later sells the outfit to help pay for her Eurovision performance. The couple smooths things over as he promises to stand up to his father when it comes to Mindy's fashion.

Nicolas works closely with Julien, who he swiped from Agence Grateau after seeing tensions between Julien, Sylvie, and Emily. The pair oversee Grégory Elliott Duprée's account, including his provocative couture line. Meanwhile, Nicolas and Mindy face another hurdle when the story of Louis de Leon being inappropriate with female subordinates releases. She decides to support Nicolas through the shocking revelation, so long as he's on the right side of the things. They get into another fight after he asks her to be part of his father's PR campaign to restore Louis's image, something she refuses as she doesn't want to be complicit. She accuses him of being complicit by taking photos with his father. He advises her not to perform at the grand opening of the Laurent G a Paris club as it's affiliated with Sylvie Grateau who helped break the story. He ultimately attends the party, barely missing her performance, and reveals that he threatened to step away from JVMA entirely if his father remained as CEO. Subsequently, Louis was asked to step down.

As Mindy's career advanced and her Eurovision performance drew closer, Nicolas began to have jealousy issues because of her friendship with Benoît.
