Emily is doing her makeup when Mindy enters. She tells Emily that Crazy Horse is looking for a new singer for their Friday night revue. Their performers are topless, but she doesn't mind since she's trying to loosen up more. Emily teasingly calls the opportunity a great exposure. Emily is still home because she's avoiding Gabriel, whom she's debating deleting off her Instagram. Mindy advises her against that as deleting a photo is also deleting a memory. Emily does need to talk with Gabriel because she hates how she left things. Mindy suggests something provocative instead, but Emily will stick with talking.

Emily finds Gabriel outside the building smoking. She hates how they left things and apologizes for leaving. She's still upset about being left at the mountain. Camille pulls up in a car to take Gabriel to lunch. She gives Emily back her ugly sweater then screeches off.

Once at work, Julien and Luc approach Emily to tell her about the new American girl that Sylvie hired, though she doesn't believe them at first. The new girl, Genevieve, is Laurent's illegitimate daughter from an affair he had with an American woman. The boys rush off when Sylvie emerges from her office. She brings Emily into the office to tell her not to feel threatened, giving her the mission of keeping Genevieve out of her hair for the day. Genevieve enters and the girls instantly start talking. They begin bonding instantly and Emily suggests they go for a lunch for the day, with Sylvie agreeing.

The Americans go to a cafe for lunch where they learn more about each others pasts. Their conversation shifts to Sylvie's strong opinions, though Emily knows Genevieve will learn a lot. She tells Genevieve to shadow her for the week and is ready to pay her amazing mentors forward. Brigitte Macron is sitting at the table behind Emily, and Genevieve encourages her to say hello since Brigitte follows her on Instagram. They converse in French before taking a photo together.

Outside, Genevieve and Emily start following each other on Instagram and Genevieve sees the photos of Gabriel. Emily gives her a quick rundown of her complicated relationship with her now ex-boyfriend.

Camille and Gabriel drive outside the city to a fancy Michelin-star restaurant. The community is very religious and her mom grew up near there. They talk about Camille's family and how much they love each other. Everyone is devastated by the news, and Camille never meant to hurt him by acting like nothing ever happened. He never told her before, but the idea of having a child scared him too, but he was excited. She wants them to see a priest who is also a spiritual advisor to her family, asking him to indulge her, and he agrees.

Sylvie is working when Laurent texts her that he's going to be in Saint-Tropez for a while. He tells her "Bonne chance"  en.  good luck ) with Genevieve. She's not happy with the situation.

Genevieve and Emily share their exciting meeting with Brigitte Macron to Julien and Luc. Sylvie emerges to tell Emily that her friend Martine from TV Bonjour called as they're doing an episode on "cuisine Normande from Monde du Goût  en.  Norman cuisine from World of Taste ), and they want to do a segment on Gabriel. She tells Emily not to keep him up all night since it's a big deal. Emily awkwardly leaves to call him as the boys teasingly heckle her. Genevieve thanks Sylvie for the great day, eager to call her father, but is disappointed to learn he's left for Saint-Tropez without telling her. Sylvie invites her shopping after work because she dresses like an American.

Camille and Gabriel sit with the Priest when he gets texts from Emily. The Priest is happy to meet with anyone interested in adoption, which is news to Gabriel. Camille lies that they're still deciding what their options are. After the conversation, they sit on a bench together as she apologizes for not telling him sooner. She thought it would be a beautiful way to start a family, but he reminds her they aren't together. She knows but thought he was looking at her differently the last few months and felt different about her. He doesn't want to try so hard. They both deserve a family with someone they're in love with.

Sylvie and Genevieve go on a luxurious and rich shopping spree. They dance, smile, and enjoy their time together. They walk outside while gushing over how fun their time was. Sylvie doesn't exercise or need therapy - she leaves it all in the dressing room. Genevieve is used to her father leaving by now, because when he stays with her mom in New York, he leaves when Genevieve comes back from school. The visitation is news to Sylvie, who didn't know they reconnected or that he stayed once or twice a year. Genevieve knows that Sylvie and Laurent are in an open relationship, something the American girl respects.

Mindy and Nicolas say goodbye to their friends and find a warm sidewalk where they kiss and catch up. She tells him about her headlining at Crazy Horse. He knows she would do great, but the timing couldn't be worse for him. It's great for her because the money will help her with expenses for Eurovision. Nicolas, however, isn't happy because the board is deciding whether to make him or his brother CEO. He doesn't like the optics of having a girlfriend at the Crazy Horse instead of a wife, but she doesn't take his worries seriously, kissing him while reminding him that she's a creative person.

Emily climbs the steps to her apartment and finds Gabriel. She tells him again about the TV show tomorrow, and he didn't realize it was so soon. He's distracted as he accepts. She asks if they're cool and he says they're fine. She knows he and Camille are probably back together because they're going to be a family, but she hopes there can be a time when they're all cool. The head in opposite directions, with Gabriel pausing to look back.

The next day at work, Emily compliments Genevieve's outfit. Emily suggests Genevieve sit in on the Maison Lavaux meeting to get experience. Sylvie pauses then agrees with Emily.

Antoine needs Agence Grateau to help him market his new baby perfume. His new bottle looks like a baby rattle that he's calling the "perfume rattle". Luc and Julien have given the concept some thought and they launch into their pitch. They think they can make babies cute and cool. The commercial includes talking babies in a club promoting Hey bébé by Maison Lavaux. Antoine likes the name but has seen talking babies before. Emily shifts the pitch to celebrities who buying their babies Birkin bags. She suggests putting the rattle inside the bag so the baby can discard the bag, going for the rattle instead. Sylvie pitches a new slogan by a mother saying "What a baby really wants, Hey Bébé, by Maison Lavaux." Antoine loves the idea.

Genevieve finds Emily after the meeting, gushing about wanting to be her when she grows up. She compliments Emily's effortless ways and Emily knows Genevieve will get there. She invites Genevieve to the interview with Gabriel.

Emily visits Camille to apologize for leaving without saying goodbye. She gives her friend a gift - the Hey bébé perfume rattle. Camille thought Gabriel told her that she's not having a baby, as it was a false pregnancy. Emily had no idea and apologizes for the gift. The plan for Camille was to open a gallery, Gabriel open a restaurant, and then they would get married and have kids. Even when their hearts were taking down them down different paths, it was hard for her to let go of the way things were supposed to be. Emily had a "supposed to be" too - the job was meant to be temporary. She was supposed to get promoted, get engaged to her boyfriend, and put a down payment on house that included a den for a baby's room. But she doesn't plan like that anymore. She just tries to make the next right move.

Mindy prepares for her performance at Crazy Horse. A woman talks her through the breakaway top and the choreography for removing the top.

Emily supervises the interview until the director asks her to leave, with Gabriel translating the request. They go into the next room where they talk about Camille not being pregnant. She feels like she's always the last to know about his life. She's open and honest but he doesn't communicate with her. He thinks that has to do with them only communicating in her language, not his. With her insistence, he tells her how he feels in French. He had this bright future with her, a Michelin star, and a baby. But he spent time trying to convince her that she was worth it and she didn't even try. He feels drained and doesn't believe in anything anymore. He has to go on TV and try to convince all of France to care about scallops. They might have communication problems, but it's not his fault. She doesn't understand any of it, and he walks way. Genevieve witnesses the ordeal and offers to talk to him for Emily. She approaches Gabriel and speaks with him in French. She's there for him and if he wants to walk out they can. He's a talented person so she's sure he will probably get another shot at the spotlight. He picks up on her usage of "probably" and she corrects to "definitely." However, the producers won't be happy. He agrees to do it since they're already set up. Genevieve tells Emily that Gabriel agreed to do it, and her bilingualism shocks Emily. She asks Genevieve if she could understand what he said to her before. Genevieve explains how Gabriel said communication was a problem with them but it wasn't his fault. She then lies that he said he didn't want to see Emily anymore. Now emotional, Emily leaves the shoot early for the office.

Sylvie walks through a grocery store and Antoine startles her. He invites her to dinner despite her being with Laurent. He doesn't want her to say no because of Laurent, because Antoine saw him in Saint-Tropez last week and he wasn't thinking about Sylvie. She tells him to enjoy his meatballs and saunters out of the store.

Emily tries to translate her feelings to French through a phone app, but keeps failing. Mindy storms out of the bathroom to demonstrate how she can't sing with her boobs out. She may sing from her diaphragm, but there's a wire cross between her diaphragm and her boobs. She continues to demonstrate much to Emily's humor. She's crying while laughing because her relationship with Gabriel is really over. She feels like it's her fault. Mindy hugs Emily, inviting her out for a drink.

Sylvie visits Laurent G. a Paris in a sexy black dress. A man strikes up a conversation with Sylvie at the bar. They dance seductively together on the floor, but she leaves before anything happens. The manager assures her that he won't tell Laurent about what happened, but she encourages him too.

Emily and Mindy walk the streets together as they gossip over Genevieve's arrival. She feels blindsided over her breakup with Gabriel. They see him laughing over drinks with Genevieve, and Mindy asks if Emily is sure they like her.
