Emily in Paris Wiki

Julien is an employee at Savoir whose brazen ways initially clash with Emily's. As a Savoir colleague, Julien is initially suspicious of Emily, he ultimately becomes a friend who keeps her in the loop on the juiciest office gossip. Julien also works to establish himself as a creative force.

Biography[]

Julien grew up worshipping couture designers, specifically Pierre Cadault. He used to steal Vogue magazines from his mother's salon and read them, just to have a glimpse at the fabulous life Pierre was living. Julien strived to be of that level of sophistication and became a fashionable and outspoken man. He was then hired at Savoir in an unclear position, though he works alongside Sylvie Grateau on some accounts.

Season 1[]

EIP 103 Unit 00159R

Julien's work at Savoir is disrupted by the arrival of an odd American girl who tries to use a translation app to tell him she's working there. He calls Sylvie Grateau to meet the American, and hurries away at the first chance he can. He learns later that the girl, Emily Cooper, is a transition consultant and marketing executive from Gilbert Group, Chicago, there to give them the American point of view. Julien, like his other colleagues, doesn't respond well to Emily's arrival and he doesn't like her approach to their workflow. He refuses to go to lunch with her, even making up an absurd excuse so he doesn't have to attend.

EIP 104 Unit 00044R

He has no qualms calling Emily La Plouc and even lies to her that it's a term of endearment. Instead of the insult that it is. He keeps this chain of taunts up until one morning when she enters and he tells her, "good morning, La Plouc". Emily uses the translation app to tell him "fuck off". Julien is offended in the best way and remarks that he thinks he likes her. This starts off a rather odd workplace friendship, with Julien warning Emily about Sylvie's affair with Antoine and trying to keep her out of trouble alongside Luc.

EIP 106 Unit 00195R

Julien is thrilled at the possibility of meeting his childhood idol, Pierre Cadault, and is horrified when Pierre calls Emily ringarde. But this flaw blows over when Pierre agrees to work with Savoir after being won over by Emily. Julien is relieved when Emily is tasked with watching the American actress Brooklyn Clarke instead of him. He offers little help in handling Brooklyn. Julien does, however, lend a helping hand to Emily when she has to save Pierre's now uncanceled Fashion Week show. He is a supporter of Pierre and attends the parties that evening to celebrate Pierre's success.

Season 2[]

Season 3[]

In the season finale, “Charade”, Julien expresses that he is tried of taking a backseat to Emily and her ideas. Sylvie dismisses this idea until Julien explodes at Emily in a meeting with Turner & Ascot when she piggybacks off his brilliant idea. This turn of events lets Julien reveal that he is being sought out by headhunters.

Season 4[]

Julien's excitement about the Ami Paris account is ruined when Emily reveals she and Alfie not only broke up, but their drama is going viral on TikTok. They were meant to be the face of his campaign launching at the French Open. He works overtime to keep Georges from getting suspicious while relying on Emily to get Alfie to the game for their big kiss. Emily admits at the game that Alfie might not be coming, which is the final straw for Julien, who has been considering an offer from JVMA. Sylvie takes JVMA's job offer as proof the company is punishing her for the Pierre incident, which offends Julien because she's making it seem as though punishing her is the only reason they would offer a job to him. He quits the agency and accepts the position with JVMA. Despite leaving, Julien ensures his relationships with everyone at Agence Grateau are still safe. However, shortly after he's hired, the exposé on Louis de Leon breaks.

Julien is assigned the Pierre Cadault account at JVMA, forcing him to work with Grégory Elliott Duprée once more. During a fashion show, Nicolas shuts down Grégory's provocative couture line. When Louis asks Julien to provide information on Sylvie so JVMA can retaliate properly, Julien quits and rejoins Agence Grateau. He also brings Grégory and his designs to the Laurent G a Paris launch party to Louis has to face the scandal in all the tabloids. Over Christmas, Julien reconnects with his yearly holiday fling Dominique, who is moving to Paris and wants to give their relationship a real try.
