Darren Star

Darren Star (born July 25th, 1961) is an American producer, director, and writer. He is best known for his work in Beverly Hills, 90210, Melrose Place, Sex and the City, and Younger. He is the creator, writer, and executive producer of the upcoming Netflix original romantic comedy series, Emily in Paris.

Darren Star is a big Ashley Park fan. He saw her in Mean Girls twice when she was in the Broadway show. He tweaked the storyline of Mindy a little bit to give Ashley Park a chance to sing. He feels that it enriches and adds some layers to the character.^[1]
According to Lucas Bravo, Darren has lived in Paris and speaks French fluently, but is modest about his language ability.^[2]
