Emily in Paris Wiki

Agence Grateau  en.  Agency Grateau ) is a luxury marketing agency in Paris, France. The company is owned by its namesake Sylvie Grateau.

History[]

Sylvie Grateau was displeased with the micromanaging and intrusive working environments at Savoir, and was fired from the company by Madeline Wheeler. However, Sylvie announces her resignation and the resignation of the entire office in response. Sylvie resigned from Savoir to start her own marketing firm, and several clients agreed to transition to her company once she launched. In the meantime, they stayed part of Savoir's clientele. Sylvie offered Emily Cooper a job at the new firm. Quitting was the easy part, as Sylvie quickly realized she didn't have an office, a name for her company, or any clients. She temporarily ran operations out of her apartment building and worked with Julien, Luc, and Emily to usurp as many of their former clients as possible. Emily's double agent work with Savoir blew up in her face when Madeline finds out her plans to quit, and Sylvie learns she hadn't quit yet. Sylvie fired Emily, who returned to working with Madeline and Savoir. Sylvie worked double time to sway her former clients to her side until Madeline informed her of the non-compete clause in every employees contract. They can't work with any of Savoir's clients for one-year. As things for both companies worsened, their respective employees convinced Madeline to rehire Sylvie as President of Savoir, though the woman refused. Sylvie placed her confidence in Pierre Cadault joining her, but he sold his company to JVMA, whose marketing is done in-house. With this loss, an offer from JVMA to work for them on only the Pierre Cadault account proved enticing. Luc told her to stick to her guns - no one ever said starting a business was easy.

When Sylvie can no longer run operations out of her apartment building, she conspired with Luc to get their old building manager Henri to help them get Savoir to vacate the building. They succeeded and Sylvie officially moved back into the former building of Galerie Patrick Fourtin, where she replaced Savoir's placard with the name of her new company, Agence Grateau. Luc and Julien won over a dog food company with a brilliant pitch courtesy of Emily, who had quit her job at the Gilbert Group now that it dissolved operations in France. After being convinced that Emily was an asset to the team, Sylvie rehired Emily, but couldn't feature her in any of the press packets until her work visa was approved. Emily knew she had to prove herself and, through her social media success, tried to secure Sylvie a place for herself in La Liste, a top 10 list of influential people in Paris. Ultimately, Emily ended up on the list alongside Gabriel, which was enough to fill out her work visa. Sylvie was given the headline space in a separate publication, since La Liste was only for newcomers.
