Plot[]
Emily is trying to buy roses at a little flower cart, but the lady refuses to sell her the significantly prettier roses and claims the lesser ones are Emily's. A French woman intervenes and translated to the florist that Emily wants the nice roses, and helps the purchase go through smoothly. When the transaction is complete, Emily thanks the woman who introduces herself as Camille. They get coffee together before Camille invites her to an art gallery opening where she works, saying that hotel chain owner Randy Zimmer from Chicago will attend. Emily agrees to go and they say goodbye, though Emily accidentally kisses Camille though the latter is fine with it. While checking her Instagram, Emily notices that she has more followers.
She returns to 1 Place de L'Estrapade to find that her boxes have arrived. Gardienne doesn't help her, so Gabriel intervenes to lend a hand. She is excited for her special Trader Joe's Chunky peanut butter, only to find that they all broke and made a mess of her photographs - including one of her and Doug. Gabriel spots the lingerie on the floor and Emily explains that it's from a client - a married, wealthy, client. He is intrigued and tells her that they can find something better for her in France than peanut butter.
He makes her a beautiful omelet in his apartment and she tells him about Antoine Lambert and his affair with her boss, Sylvie Grateau. She offers to help Gabriel clean up the kitchen but he refuses to let her wash his pan, as not washing it is the secret to him making great omelets.
Emily arrives at Savoir roses in hand to find that Sylvie and Antoine are fighting in her office. Undoubtedly because Sylvie knows about Antoine's gift to Emily. Julien intercepts her trying to dissuade her from intervening since Sylvie is shouting that she feels unappreciated. Emily can't sit by since Antoine is threatening to leave Savoir. She interrupts the argument and tells Sylvie that she is meeting with Randy Zimmer that evening to talk to him about the custom fragrance from Maison Lavaux, crediting the idea to Sylvie's genius. Antoine is impressed so Sylvie passes it off as her idea. Emily gives the roses to Sylvie and excuses herself from the office.
When Antoine leaves, Sylvie throws the roses on Emily's desk, insisting that she doesn't need to be rescued. Julien and Luc swoop in when Sylvie is gone, telling her that they're taking her out to lunch. At lunch, they pry for information on her relationship with Antoine but Emily insists that nothing is going on. They warn her to stay out of the drama between Antoine and Sylvie, as things between them are complicated. Apparently, Antoine pursued Sylvie when he was a new, young, hot client at Savoir. He was already married but it didn't matter. Emily realizes the foul stench she smelled and remarks that she stepped in merde. Julien remarks that she sure did.
Mindy and Emily attend the art gallery opening that evening, with Camille intercepting Emily to introduce her to Randy Zimmer. Camille excuses herself so Emily uses this time to give an excellent elevator pitch to Randy on why his company needs a signature scent that his guests will remember. Randy is interested but only in town for another day, but agrees to meet with her about the proposal.
He arrives at Savoir the next morning to meet with Sylvie, Antoine, and Emily about the scents. They discuss it but Randy is a little hesitant to pull the trigger on the decision, so Emily suggests a dinner that evening to talk things over more. He agrees and Sylvie puts Emily in charge of making the reservation, even recommending a Michelin star restaurant. Julien warns Emily that no one can get a reservation there last minute. Antoine intercepts Emily and asks if she liked his gift, but she found it rude and over the line. He assures her that he didn't give her the lingerie for him but for her, so she could feel sexy and powerful. He leaves afterward.
That night, Emily takes everyone to Le Grand Véfour but is shocked to learn that she booked the reservation for 11/8 instead of 8/11. She forgot that in France they write their months and dates differently. She calls Gabriel and asks if he can seat them at Les Deux Compères and even though they are about to close he agrees. Emily explains to the group that they are coming back to Le Grand Véfour for the opening of Zimmer Paris, and in the meantime, will be fed by the best up and coming chef in Paris.
Over the course of dinner, Antoine drops plenty of innuendos regarding sex, affairs, and more though Sylvie manages to deflect them in a coy way. Gabriel pops over to asks if everything is satisfactory and they compliment him tightly for the delicious food. By the end of the dinner, Randy agrees to work with Antoine on the signature scent. The group disbands and Sylvie commends Emily on doing well with this particular project. She invites her out for drinks with the group but insinuates that Emily should make her move with Gabriel.
Emily decides to take Sylvie's advice and goes back inside Les Deux Compères and kisses Gabriel. She leaves before he can say anything and sees Sylvie and Antoine making out by a tree. Emily turns to see Camille about to enter Les Deux Compères, and Emily remarks that the chef is talented but they're closing now. Camille knows this as the chef is her boyfriend. Gabriel exits the restaurant and is nervous to see the women together. Emily pieces together that all the places she saw Camille was in her neighborhood - which she shares with Gabriel. Camille remarks that she told Emily that Paris is a small town.
